I took our portable Panasonic DVD Player out of the box today and set it up in the car (see photo to the right). Now Katie will have something to watch when she is in the back seat. She has started to get fussy during our drives as of late so this is as much a gift for my wife and I as it is for her. I have a friend who said that during long trips they sometimes had a hard time getting their kids out of the backseat when there was a DVD player there.
We started off by playing Andrea Rieu – Concert in Vienna…but here are pauses between the songs where he talks so Katie didn’t like that very much. When we put the Mary Poppins DVD in the player she was totally quiet…a sign that she is absorbed with what she is watching…
We ended up going to the Christmas Tree display off Penny Road. It was quite elaborate…probably the nicest we have seen in this area, but there is not really a place to park and take Katie out so we will probably not be coming back. Katie makes such a fuss when she can’t get out of the car and “touch” the display.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Katie now has a DVD Player in the car to watch.
