Day #710 (Wed., Dec 14, 2011) – “Piglet Ride”

I went to Trader Joe’s today for supplies. We haven’t been there in a while so today’s trip cost $238.00 Wow! I remember when I was a kid we went to the downtown IGA to get groceries because a snowstorm was coming and we wanted to make sure we had enough supplies on hand for Christmas. Two whole shopping carts and the bill came to $78.00. Inflation sure took hold in the 70’s…

While at Trader Joe’s I was keeping my eyes open for food items that Katie might light. She sometimes won’t eat and if she finds a food interesting that is too our advantage. I saw some prune disks with walnuts in them that I thought she might like (not a big hit). I also got some big bran flakes (she liked this much better).

2011-12-14 - Milk On Horse
Katie is into pouring her milk into (and onto) various things these days. One of her favorite activities is to pour milk into a toy teacup and drink from it and say “Ah…Good”. In the photo to the left you can see her rocking horse get the “milk treatment”.

This evening I made quesadilla’s on the grill with black beans, cheese, sour cream and salsa. Katie liked the “inner’ds” but left the tortilla on the plate.

Katie had an accident in the bathroom this evening. She was playing with her toys and all of a sudden out came a “#2”. No wonder she was fussy today. So…drain the tub, clean up the mess, put the kid back in, and “repeat”…

In Katie’s bath this evening she started playing with the various figurines. One was piglet and the other was a little plastic turtle. All of a sudden she put piglet on the back of the turtle and said “Piglet Ride”… I think the times of imaginative play are here…
