Day #725 (Thu., Dec 29, 2011) – Katie’s First Ballet Slippers

As we were driving to the playground near Lochmere this morning an ambulance ran rushing by. Katie started to laugh and said “That’s Funny”…

When Katie got up from her nap this afternoon we bundled her up and took her to Releve Dancewear in the Crossroads section of Cary. They are one of two stores in the area (the other being in Raleigh) that specialize in dancewear and ballet equipment. We needed to get a pair of ballet slippers (see photo to the left) for Katie’s dance class as they will be beginning next week.

We were surprised at how well Katie behaved at the dance store. She let the lady take her boots off and equip her with the proper size of ballet slipper. The lady said that you want a bit of room in the toe of the shoe so that Katie will be able to grow into them. In addition you can tuck the laces into the top of the shoe so that they are out of the way when dancing.

I got the Bosch Oscillating Tool in the mail today. It will make the job of creating the baby doll crib so much easier. If there was any doubt that this crib would need to be tough and sturdy one only needed to look at the fate of the box that this tool came in. When I looked up Katie was sitting on it and the cardboard top had caved. This baby doll crib had better be sturdy…

Katie seems very cuddly and clingy this evening. We hope that she is not coming down with a cold or something.
