2012-01-15 - Assembled Doll Crib

It was too cold to take Katie out today so both my wife and I stayed at home and played with her. I did find time to go downstairs and work on the baby doll crib some more. I needed to sand down the various parts and attach the headboard and footboard to the actual bed platform. I used self-drilling drywall screws that I had handy and some wood glue so this sucker should be able to withstand the antics of any toddler…Katie included. Now I need to sand down the rough edges and give it a first coat of paint. I will then be able to see if there are any imperfections that need to be fixed. You can see the assembled product in the photo to the right.

Lots of football on television today. The Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans and the New York Giants beat the Green Bay Packers. I thought Katie would be eager to watch her shows on the big screen television but she was happy to watch her shows in the bedroom and play with her toys. She did manage to get into the various cards that our family and friends have sent us. They are now autographed by Katie.

Katie said “I found a piece of wood” this evening. We now know that she is capable of six word sentences.
