Day #830 (Thu., Apr. 12, 2012) – “It Is Extremely Hot”

When I got home from work this evening my wife and Katie were talking to the neighbor who first did a “sales job” on us regarding the house. Katie was a handful to manage but we had a nice chat. She told us a bit about our neighborhood and welcomed us to it. Katie disrupted the conversation by picking up some dog poop…but that’s another story.

The HVAC people were working late on the system this evening and hot air started to come out of it. Katie replied “It is extremely hot”. They were amazed…and we were amazed. Where did she learn the word “extremely” from? That child’s vocabulary is amazing…

While the HVAC people explained the new heating system to my wife I tended to Katie. I found a bag of plastic Easter eggs that we didn’t give her on Easter and we played with those. I hid a little earplug in one of them and asked her if she could find the egg with the “chicken” in it. I showed her how to put the egg to your ear and listen for the “peep peep”…

I made Katie a plate of “watermelon triangles” (see photo to the left) this evening. I think she likes food better when you cut it into shapes for her. Cucumber circles anyone?
