Day #920 (Wed., July 11, 2012) – Katie’s Bed Arrives

Katie has a new bed. We have noticed that she has been trying to climb out of the crib as of late and it is only a matter of days til she succeeds. As a result, we decided to be a bit proactive and get a new bed and have it ready for her. It arrived today. We are going to assemble it and keep it in the living room area for now…
Katie loves this little toy I got her at the Dollar Store a while back. It is basically a box with about five small magic tricks. She is too young to understand the “magic” about the tricks but all the little objects seem to fascinate her. So, with the mission of getting some more in mind, I drove down to the Dollar Store at noon.
Well, I did find a couple of small boxes of magic tricks, but sooooo much more. Here’s a list of the “hawl” I took in:
1) Two boxes of magic tricks (as I mentioned).
2) Two plastic “slinkies”.
3) A bag of small bath toys.
4) Two puzzles of 24-pieces (Katie might need to grow into them).
5) A Spiderman Ice Pack for “Boo Boos” (Daddy inspired I bet).
6) Balloons with stems that fly into the sky.
7) etc…
This evening I gave Katie one of the slinkies. I thought that she would go crazy for it as she really liked the one she picked up at Chuck E Cheeses. She played with it a bit but soon threw it on the ground and went to play with her blocks.
I gave Katie the bag of small bath toys later in the evening (she had the same set a while back). She had diarrhea and since she helped mommy change her diaper and bath her I wanted to reward her. This set of toys was a much bigger hit. My wife tells me that these are her favorite bath toys.
