I assembled the garden hose holder in the middle of the night. With a young toddler wanting to “help” it is sometimes easier this way. What a monster…the instructions were not the best…but I finally figured it out. I plan to put it up tomorrow. It has a crank so that you can roll the garden hose up into a neat compact little roll conveniently out of the way when you are done.
After dinner my wife bundled up Katie and took her down the street to see Helen (who is just a week or two younger than Katie). While they were gone I did some investigation on how to secure the garden hose holder to our brick house. Equipped with the information I was off to Home Depot to get a masonry drill bit and some concrete screws.
Just as I was finishing putting the hose holder up (see photo to the right) my wife and Katie returned. I showed them how this new contraption worked. Other than the obvious usage of watering the plants and garden, we will now be able to conveniently fill up our inflatable pool so Katie can splash about in the summer sun. My wife also bought a little “water toy” fountain that squirts water on you as you run around it. I’m sure Katie will love it. Perhaps Helen can come over sometime and enjoy in the fun as well.
