Day #972 (Sat., Sept. 1, 2012) – The Crayon Sharpener

My wife took Katie to the park at noon today so that I could work on the floors. I ended up flattening the whole kitchen floor so all we need to do now is put some primer on it and lay down the tiles. It’s looking more and more likely that I will be done by the end of Labor Day…

When Katie got up from her nap we went to the Japanese Hibachi Grill for dinner then to Wal-Mart to pick up a gift for Susan’s kids (we are going there tomorrow for dinner). We got a little “elephant vacuum game” that spits out little “butterflies” that you catch with a net. We also stopped off at the Dollar Store to get some wrapping paper and a “doggie balloon” for Katie. Next stop was Michael’s where I picked up a crayon/pencil sharpener for $0.50. Our final stop was Trader Joe’s for some dessert for tomorrow’s dinner.

2012-09-01 – Paper Cutouts

This evening Katie and I made some paper doll cutouts that we colored with our newly sharpened crayons (see photo to the left). A pig, a bear, a cow, and a donkey. As soon as I would finish one Katie would say “we need some more animals”. The donkey was the last one…kind of a “tired drawing” don’t you think?

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Katie really enjoys the time that we spend drawing together.
