Day #974 (Mon., Sept. 3, 2012) – Hugging Chuck E Cheese
Plans for today were for my wife to take Katie to the park while I worked on the floors…but that was not to be. She soon came back to the house and told me that her car’s rear windshield had been smashed. We called the police and filled out a police report. He cited it as vandalism.
This evening we went to Chuck E Cheese’s to meet Emily, a potential new babysitter. While my wife talked to her I ran after Katie (literally). Katie enjoyed wandering around and trying out a number of rides and amusements but she seemed to especially like this car in which a mannequin man was next to her. When I got the chance to talk to Emily and my wife ran after Katie she apparently liked the ride which was shaped like a boat in which you could make the animals jump.
One of the highlights this evening was when Chuck E Cheese hugged Katie (see photo to the right). There was this person wandering around like Chuck E Cheese and Katie was wary at first but soon took up the offer of a hug. All the way home Katie would keep yacking about how Chuck E Cheese hugged her…on the shoulder.
