Day #992 (Fri., Sept. 21, 2012) – Ernest Money

I drove out to Cary to see the house today. One of the builders was fixing the trim over our garage so I didn’t bother to stop and go in. The buyer is going to practically be getting a brand new house once all the repairs have been done…

On the way to see the Cary house I stopped off at the Dollar Store. I got three plastic recorders…one green, one red, and one purple. Now my wife and I and Katie will each have our own recorder to play. I figured I would get separate colors so that we will each know whose recorder is whose…we don’t want to be spreading germs and bugs around to each other. When I got home from work I asked Katie which one she wanted. She said “Green” of course. It seems that green is one of her favorite colors. You can see her playing it in front of the hall mirror in the photo to the left.

Well the day has finally arrived. As of 5pm today we are able to cash our chest for “earnest money” for the Cary household. If the buyer backs out of the agreement after this date we get to keep the check…over $1000…so it is unlikely he would back out now. Looks like our Cary house is going to be sold and we can officially “move” to Chapel Hill.

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
——————————
1) Katie is very musical and loves the recorder I gave her today.
