Day #998 (Thu., Sept. 27, 2012) – The Cowgirl Hat
I had to stop off at Target at noon today to get some #6 diapers and baby clothes detergent. Picked up three vinyl blinds for $3.99 each while I was at it…
Katie was very fussy when I got home from work this evening. She wanted to go see Helen so we needed a distraction. I gave her a “Special Present” and that did the trick. A cowgirl hat (see photo to the right) that I got at the Dollar Store the other day. She immediately asked for a rope. We were trying to figure out why and then we remembered that there was a Backyardigan’s episode where the cowboys have ropes. We are thinking of creating a trunk of “Dress Up” costumes for Katie and her friends so this cowgirl hat will fit in nicely.
We are constantly looking for videos to keep Katie amused and entertained. I’ve been trying to find a lively dancing number for Katie as she loves to dance. For some reason this evening the “Can Can” dance popped into my mind and soon Katie was all over it. Not the most suitable dances for a toddler but she loved it. Soon we were all up and dancing around to it. She would lift up her dress and kick her feet high…mimicking the moves as best she could.
