Day #1000 (Sat., Sept. 29, 2012) – *** DAY ONE THOUSAND IS HERE ***

When I initially started this blog many people thought it would last only a few days. When day #200 rolled around a friend of ours noticed this milestone and mentioned it to my wife. Here it is 5x that milestone and we (especially Katie) are going strong as best we can. Here’s to the life and love of Katie and pressing forward to the next milestone (whatever that might be)…

I went to pick up my new iPhone at SouthPoint Mall around noon today. My wife sent me the following notes while I was away:

As you were leaving, Katie saw a dog running by, so we went to look for it. Apparently it was Katie’s white American Eskimo Loki. As Katie was going to check on Lucy’s house, she let Loki out of the car for a run. So our Katie got to play a bit with Henry and Alma – maybe 15-20 minutes or so. They all got a kick out of playing with a bird bath and popping the bubbles.

It was 11:50, Katie has finished her lunch, milk and was watching Strawberry Shortcake when I thought – this is the most stupid show of anything she has ever watched. As I was thinking about this, Katie asked: “Can I go to bed now?” Absolutely – you are one smart girl! 🙂

2012-09-29 – Painted Cow

It rained almost all day today so no park for Katie today. This evening we took her for a drive and got stuck in football game traffic near UNC. No problem…we had a chance to see all the painted cows (see photo to the left) that Katie and I saw during a previous car ride. We think that they are not a permanent part of UNC but rather a way to promote an art exhibit.

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
