Day #1017 (Tue., Oct. 16, 2012) – Katie Visits The Dentist

My wife and I were up every couple of hours with Katie. She is in pain and cannot sleep. We give her some ibuprofin and that calms her down enough so that she can sleep…for another couple more hours.

Christina started work for us again. My wife and I had to go to work so she had quite a handful with Katie. At least Katie seemed to remember her and that is one thing we don’t have to worry about.

My wife took Katie to the dentist this afternoon in case they could do something to deal with her pain. When they looked inside her mouth it seemed that Katie’s tooth was totally gone, but the x-ray showed that it was just pushed inside (see photo to the right). Hopefully in a month or so it will come back. The soft tissues are very damaged…it will take at least 2-3 days for them to heal. The dentist warned us that we should get ready for a few more bad nights.

This evening Katie wanted to go see the ducks so as soon as I got home from work we took a loaf of bread and went to a park in Carborro that had a lake. Unfortunately there were no ducks, but Katie got quite the kick out of feeding the bread to the fishes.
