Day #1020 (Fri., Oct. 19, 2012) – Bunch Of Balloons
My wife ran out of children ibuprofin this morning so I drove down to Walgreens to get some. She wanted “no dye” but the only “no dye” had berry flavor and Katie is constantly spitting that out. I thought I had better try bubble gum flavor but soon found out that she didn’t like that any better. I guess it is the act of us holding her down and forcing her to drink it that is what she doesn’t really like.
This evening Katie was very fussy and crying so we had to find something to distract her til her medicine kicked in. I got a package of balloons out that I got at the Dollar Store the other day. We ended up in her room with them. As she would hand me one and tell me the color I would blow it up and let it fall to the ground (see photo to the left). Soon we had 28 balloons of all colors on the ground. The next step was for my wife and I to use a marker to paint animal faces on them. Mission accomplished…this kept her busy til her medicine kicked in…all for $1.00.
