Day #1073 (Tue., Dec. 11, 2012) – Trimming The Tree
When I got home from work Katie was looking for a Special Present so I got out a bag of plastic “ice cube” fruits from the Dollar Store. The deal is that you freeze them in the freezer and put them in your drinks to keep them cold. No time for that though…Katie enjoyed sorting out the fruits as they were. Blue grapes here…orange strawberries there…
This evening Kate brought a box of bows to me. She wanted to “trim the tree”. My wife ended up taking some of them away but gave us two bags of tinsel that we got from the Dollar Store a while back. One bag of red and one bag of blue. Katie and I took turns putting them on the tree. Katie would put big clumps of them on the tree (see photo to the left) and when I would laugh she would stare intently at me and ask “What’s so funny”? She really doesn’t like to be laughed at…no matter how adorable the things she does are.
The show “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” was on television this evening. There was a white abominable snowman type creature that I called the “Frost Giant”. I was to later learn that it was called the “Winter Warlock” but not to Katie. The name “Frost Giant” stuck with her. She kept asking me to rewind the show so that she could see the “Frost Giant”.
