Day #1095 (Wed., Jan. 2, 2013) – Supplies For The Jungle Party
I went to the Dollar Store at noon today to pick up some supplies for Katie’s birthday. My wife wanted me to pick up some shower caps and bands for the toy pith helmets. I found the shower caps but why not use ribbons as bands for the pith helmets? Worth a try. While at the Dollar Store I also came across some packages of jungle animal stickers. Quite the deal for only $1.00 each.
Becka took Katie to the museum in Durham today. It’s been a while since she saw Becka so my wife said she was really excited. Poor little girl was tired afterwards…she slept in the car on the way home.
This evening my wife showed me what she had done in regards to the jungle party preparations (see photo to the right). Quite a good job. The two palm trees are done and now have two plush monkeys dangling from them. We put some snakes around the trunk for that added “Jungle Touch”. As a finishing touch this evening on the palm trees we wrapped a couple of plastic snakes around the trunk. Next up…paint some styrofoam balls brown and hang them from the top of the trees.
