Day #1131 (Thu., Feb. 7, 2013) – Rolling The Ball

One of the benefits of our new house is the large backyard. In the townhouse we used to live in there was no land for Katie to roam around. Not an issue with our new place, as you can see in the photo to the right.
Katie wanted to play ball this evening. My wife and her were on the living room floor with the little red ball. My wife would roll it towards Katie and Katie would in turn throw it back to my wife. Well that little red ball is in effect a golf ball, so you can imagine the damage that it would cause if it hit the television. My wife made a bargain with Katie. If she would roll the ball instead of throwing it she would continue to play with her. If she did not, then she would stop playing. Katie understood the condition (but complained at first) and rolled it back and forth along the floor.
It never ceases to amaze me at how great Katie’s aim is. She can kick and throw a ball spot on. I think she would be a tremendous athlete where “hand and eye” coordination is needed, if she decided to go that route. My wife and I would much rather she go into math or music, but the choice is eventually up to Katie. Perhaps tennis would be a better option than soccer…I hear that there are a lot of concussions in soccer.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Maybe Katie will be a tennis champ when she grows up?
