At noon today I picked up a rose and some 85% chocolate for my wife. I had to get something for my other Valentine…Katie. I thought Jelly Bellies might fit the bill. We don’t want her to have too much chocolate and she loves gummy bears so this might be a special treat. I didn’t want to give her the whole bag so I made a little envelope with a heart on it and put 5 Jelly Bellies in that. In this way they will last longer.
This evening we had a Skype session with my mother while my wife and Katie decorated some Valentine’s Day cookies that my wife made last night (see photo to the left). While they were all busy I excused myself to fix the lever on the toilet. When you have a toddler who likes to get into things you look for any opportunity you can to get away and get things done.
I guess that Becca was remarking today and what an athlete Katie is. She noticed that Katie can throw a strong ball and is very accurate as well. I wonder if she won’t take up tennis when she gets older?
My wife tried to have a nap this evening but Katie would not let her be. Like my wife said…if someone is sleeping it’s like “forbidden fruit”. I went to warm some milk up for Katie and soon she appeared next to me with a “Look what I found”? It was an alarm clock. When I asked her where she got it she said “Next to mommy”. I asked her to quietly put it back as I know taking it from her and putting it back myself was not going to work for Katie… By that time my wife was up…
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Will Katie grow up to be a tennis star?
