I got an email from my wife at 3:41pm this afternoon. Katie has a temperature of 100 degrees…but is fine other than that. I offered to go get groceries at Trader Joe’s this evening but she said that she would rather have me home early this evening.
Katie seemed to get sicker and sicker as the evening progressed. Her nose was running and she was a a lot less energetic than she usually is. By 8pm it was time to put her to bed…but the evening wasn’t done just yet…
Katie loves to sit on the heating vent near the big window overlooking our back yard (see photo to the right). My wife and I got talking about it this evening. It feels good as this is where the warm heat is flowing in the winter. This is exactly what I did when I was a child.
Both my wife and I went to bed anticipating a potentially rough night with Katie. By 9:30pm Katie was up crying for her mommy. My wife was so tired that she didn’t even hear it…but I sure did. I gave Katie something to eat and we watched a bit of television then back to bed. 10:30pm and she was up again… 11:08pm back to bed… 11:30pm up again… I was just about to go and get Katie again when she went silent. Out at last…
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
