Day #91 (Sun., Apr. 4, 2010) – Easter Chipmunk

Today is little Katie’s first Easter Sunday. When I awoke she was playing on the playmat in the nursery. I said “Good Morning” and she gave me this big smile and squealed. How adorable is that?

10:03am and little Katie is lying next to me in the living room. She is a tortured soul trying to figure out what is the most interesting…the overhead fan or the television. Daddy doesn’t even enter into the equation… We shut the television off (which we don’t want her to look at) and she stopped looking at it. Since the fan doesn’t make any noise her interest must be totally motion-based.

For whatever reason I find myself singing the following song:

“Put on your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it”
“And you will be the chipmunk in the Easter parade”

10:10am – Little Katie is trying to sit up. Life is more interesting when you sit up isn’t it little Katie?

See the rabbit ears in the photo to the left? I got them at the Dollar Store the other day. We took a picture of little Katie in them and sent them to our family and friends. We could fancy this up a bit and use it as a Halloween costume, but right now we’re leaning towards dressing her up like a chipmunk… 🙂

It’s funny how little Katie grabs her bib and then tries to stuff it in her mouth. Sometimes she pulls it over her eyes and can’t figure out why the world disappeared… 🙂

I don’t think I like the diaper genie much any more. Now that we are at #3 diapers (which are bigger) it fills up in no time…meaning I have to change it more often.

I assembled the fenced play yard for little Katie this evening. It’s in our living room as I write this blog. Soon she will be crawling, so it will be needed.

10:00pm – Little Katie is lying in her crib now. This is the second day in a row in which she has gone to bed “relatively early”. We’re hoping that this is her new schedule…

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

————————————
1) Little Katie’s choice…the television or the fan.
2) Little Katie is trying to sit up these days.
