My wife’s birthday is today so we went to Sal’s Pizza for their buffet lunch to celebrate. Since Becca takes care of Katie on Thursdays we didn’t have to worry about finding a babysitter. After dropping my wife off at home Becca came running up to the car…she wanted to tell me that Katie and her made a flower for my wife (see photo to the right). Katie decorated the pot. It was on the side of the house and the plan was to give it to my wife when I got home from work. That was not to be as Katie woke up from her nap singing and telling my wife all about it.
When I got home from work my wife and Katie were not at home. They went to visit our neighbors down the street who have baby chickens. Well, Katie didn’t want to leave and as a result there was a lot of drama by the time they got home. I tried to get her mind off of things… We went to the trunk of the car to get the daisies and citronella candle that I picked up yesterday and gave them to my wife. I then gave Katie the birthday card we made and she gave it to my wife.
Katie slept for a while this evening but soon woke up singing:
Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do.
I’m half crazy all for the love of you.
It won’t be a stylish marriage, (Katie’s version: “it will be quite a marriage”)
I can’t afford a carriage.
But you’ll look sweet,
Upon the seat,
Of a bicycle made for two.
