Day #1282 (Mon., July 8, 2013) – Big Little Books
I got three of the packages that I shipped to North Carolina from Nova Scotia in the mail today. Both Katie and my wife were excited about all the goodies and couldn’t wait for me to come home to see what was inside.
Inside one of the boxes was all the books that I told them I had shipped. Included were the Art Linkletter Children’s Encyclopedias, Big Little Books, and various hardcover books like Arabian Nights, Tom Sawyer, and Black Beauty. While my wife was putting the encyclopedias up on the shelves Katie has plans of her own. She took a number of the books down to daddy’s bedroom…where her plans were that we would read them. Hint Hint.
We had dinner at the table this evening. Delicious lasagna from Trader Joe’s. Katie doesn’t mind eating at the table…I think it’s a bit of a novelty to her. We find that she eats better at the table as well…perhaps it is due to the lack of distraction from the television.
Later this evening Katie and I read a number of the Big Little Books (see photo to the right) while we sat on the LazyBoy and munched on popcorn.
I’m not sure why but I seem to sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep. Maybe I’m just exhausted from all the activities in Nova Scotia and “drama” in my life these days. Katie does notice the difference as it cuts down on her playtime with daddy.
