Day #1300 (Fri., July 26, 2013) – Making Up Languages

2013-07-26 - Iron CastingAs you can see in the photo to the right, my wife found a great place for the iron casting I did in industrial arts cast in Canada. It now hangs from our kitchen wall (see photo to the right).

Katie has really been into make up new languages as of late. We’re not sure exactly where this comes from, but perhaps it is from watching Dora. She doesn’t understand Spanish, so perhaps she figures out if she just makes up words other people will understand her? Anyway, she will go up to people she meets and talk her “gibberish” and they will just stare at her with that “What language are you speaking little girl?” look.

When I came home from work this evening Katie was playing on the hill in the front of our house. This seems to be her favorite play area as there are trees and acorns and bugs and all sorts of cool stuff to explore and gather. While my wife and I were making dinner she came into the house to get a pair of scissors. She said that she needed to fix the sick trees. We could peer out through the living room window and see her happily trimming away. I’m sure she had more fun than the trees.

With Katie so wound up we were thinking that we would have to go to Michael’s and pick up the paintings that they had framed for us. That was not to be as Katie seemed to wind down later in the evening and was content to just roam around the house, play with her toys, and watch her shows on television.

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
