Day #1323 (Sun., Aug. 18, 2013) – Meeting The Fish

Katie woke up at 5:00am (she went to bed at 7:00pm) after 10 hours of sleep – all rested. She told my wife that her bed was wet and they needed to do the laundry (she fell asleep without a diaper). So they did. What can be better than doing laundry at 5 am? At 6:30 she got a bright idea of taking bath… She played with foam letters I my wife got in the consignment sale. My wife tried to put Katie to bed at 7:05am… No luck there.

2013-08-18 - Fish No TailWe were playing with a puzzle when Katie came across the fish in the photo to the left. She noticed that it had no tail and wondered why. I taught her about perspective and how the fish’s tail was actually behind the body.

Around noon Katie started to put her shoes on in case we needed to leave early for the playground.

We went to the playground near Chapel Hill East High School to meet the other fish. Amelia, a new girl in Katie’s class, helped her to make a cake (actually a collection of sticks and leaves and such). She followed Katie around and asked her if she should put this on the cake or not. She didn’t want to leave and started to cry when her parents made her go. Half way down the path she said she didn’t give Katie a hug and came running back to give Katie a hug good-bye. Do I see a future playdate coming up? I told my wife to keep an eye open for her parents in the future.
