Day #1356 (Fri., Sept. 20, 2013) – Scooby-Doo

Katie has a bad cough so we decided to keep her home from school. I’m not feeling that well so I stayed home as well. After my wife went to a meeting at work she was home with us too.

Katie wouldn’t eat anything this morning. An offer of turkey bacon & eggs brought no response. She did however have a nice warm bottle of milk.

For whatever reason Katie has had a fascination with “scary” this morning. She mentioned to me when she first got up and then twice more that she wanted to see something scary on television. I had to wrack my brain to come up with something that would be “scary appropriate”…something a child could see. I settled on “Scooby-Doo”…the cartoon series about a young group of detectives who search out scary monsters.

2013-09-20 - Ryder TruckThe man from Duke Energy came to pick up our old freezer this morning in a huge Ryder truck (see photo to the right). As it turns out, it was too small so he left without taking it. It would be nice if people tell you this on the phone beforehand. In return his huge truck knocked down a tree hanging way up in our driveway. We were to later learn that he also knocked down the AT&T cable so the Sui’s didn’t have phone or internet all day. All in all, we got less than nothing for the experience…except for the fact that Katie got to play with his dog for a bit.

This evening we used Netflix and put the “Aristocats” on tv for Katie. It was popular back when I was a kid. She loved it.

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
