Day #1369 (Thu., Oct. 3, 2013) – To Bed By 7
My wife purchased some “Halloween Spider Lights” to decorate our house for Halloween. You can see them in the photo to the right.
Katie was a real joy to be with this evening (bare with the sarcasm). She was fussy and rude and wouldn’t listen to mommy or daddy. Around 7pm I had enough. I told her that if she didn’t stop I would take her to bed. When she talked back to me that was it. I picked her up and carried her to her room and told her to stay in there until she calmed down. She started to yell out that she wanted mommy to come to her room and read her a story. Eventually I turned off the television set so both my wife and I sat in the living room in pure silence with only the cries of “Mommy come read me a story” echoing in the distance.
Eventually there was dead silence. The only worry was that Katie didn’t have a diaper on and the resulting wetness would wake her up in the middle of the night. That was a minor issue at this stage…at least she was sleeping and both my wife and I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and went to bed as well.
11pm and Katie is up. She is complaining that she can’t sleep in the dark. Not a bit of wonder with all the scary stuff she has been gorging herself on lately. Her solution? To go to the television set and watch Scooby-Doo. Go figure…
