Day #1393 (Sun., Oct. 27, 2013) – To The Hardware Store
When I returned from Canada in June I shipped our surname sign back to us. When it came in the mail it just sat on the mantle…but today is the day to put it in its proper place…on our mailbox. I cleaned it up and painted the letters, now I just need to get the hardware to put it up. When Katie wouldn’t go for a nap we bundled her up and took her to Home Depot to get some hardware…
Katie is going to be a cat for Halloween this year (as you can see in the photo to the right).
Home Depot didn’t have what we wanted so we ended up at the hardware store near YoPop. Katie was a real chatterbox all the way. Long gone are those days when I could take long drives and she not say a work. She now seems bound and determine to say every word in the dictionary (with a few that aren’t). A quick stop at Subway for a footlong and then home to put Katie to bed. She was more than willing to got this time.
This evening Katie brought some books into the master bed so I could read them to her. I told her, “Earlier in the day you didn’t want to even give me a kiss”. She replied, “I want to kiss you now” and gave me a kiss on the forehead. This girl is an absolute charmer…
