Day #1451 (Tue., Dec. 24, 2013) – Train Set (Xmas Day #7)
My wife and I have mentioned many times that it just doesn’t seem like Christmas this year. We’re not exactly sure why, but perhaps it is because Katie is not into it as we would think she would be? She does sing Christmas carols and read Christmas books and talk a bit about Santa…but not as much as I did when I was a child. Perhaps she is just not old enough yet? At any rate, my wife and I decided we would wrap up presents and put them under the tree to encourage her interest. We didn’t feel like it…we’re just tired…but we figure perhaps if we create memories like this Katie will show more interest next year?
I gave Katie the train set that I got at FiveBelow a few weeks ago (see photo to the left). Four cars and a bit of track…not a bad deal for only $5. It also has a headlight for the engine. The cats didn’t know what to make of it.
