Day #113 (Mon., Apr. 26, 2010) – Another Day At Work

I’m feeling better this morning. I’m going to go to work today after resting all weekend.

My wife had to run some errands this morning so I was home with little Katie. About 15 minutes before my wife came home little Katie started to “chipmunk” loudly. I went in to see her and she smiled. I turned on the mobile over her crib and left her alone. She stopped “chipmunking” for a while, and when the mobile stopped I went back in and started it up again. Why did I do this? Well, I’ve learned me lesson not to feed her unless it is absolutely necessary. If other forms of entertainment will keep her quiet, that’s fine with me. The problem is, once I start to feed her, if she doesn’t like the nipple on the bottle, or doesn’t get enough milk or “whatever”, she will start to cry and it is almost impossible to get her to stop. Since my wife was coming home soon anyway it’s best to try other forms of entertainment to calm her down.

The photo on the right shows the receiver end of our baby monitor system. It is quite useful in letting us know when the baby is “up and about” in her bedroom. Sometimes it shorts and produces a lot of static…which is not very pleasant (especially if you are trying to catch some sleep).

My wife told me that little Katie was laughing wildly today when she had her in the “airplane pose”. This is basically what we call it when my wife lies on her back and balances little Katie on her knees. For some reason little Katie loves to look down on people. I get the same reaction when I hold her over my head and she looks down at me.

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Little Katie is laughing louder and louder these days.
