Day #1490 (Sat., Feb. 1, 2014) – Olivia’s Birthday
The kittens love to crawl on top of the radiator to keep warm (see photo to the left).
Alfred stopped by this morning to see if Katie wanted to go over to his house to play with Gabby. My wife was happy to have her out of the way for a couple of hours so that she could clean up the place. I guess when Katie was there she was hungry so she went up to Alfred and asked if she could have some food. He fed her a grilled cheese sandwich…at least according to Katie…
I drove Katie and my wife out to Olivia’s house to attend her birthday party this evening. It was from 5pm to just after 7pm. We thought it best that I not attend lest I give my cold to the children. The theme was “Fairies” and Katie got a “goodie bag” of fairy stickers, Play Doh, a bouncy ball that lights up and a candy necklace.
After dropping my wife and Katie off at the party I drove to Trader Joe’s to pick up some supplies. It was packed due to the Super Bowl tomorrow and by the time I was done shopping it was time to go pick them up again.
My wife was beat so she went to bed around 9pm this evening. It was a tough sell to get Katie to sleep. I told her many stories and after many trips back to the bedroom to coax her to sleep I eventually fed her a snack of flat cheese and “all sorts of things” while she watched “Caillou”. She finally fell asleep around 12:30am…
