Day #1504 (Sat., Feb. 15, 2014) – Eleri’s Birthday Party Postponed
Eleri’s birthday is today, but her parents cancelled it due to all the bad weather of late. They will reschedule it for sometime later on.
After breakfast this morning I went to pick up my car in the police parking lot. They were good enough to let me keep it there on Wednesday when the snow started to fall. The man at the counter said that he couldn’t guarantee that it would not get towed…but this option was certainly better than keeping it out on the street with all the crazy winter drivers.
My wife and I took Katie to Dunkin Donuts to get 2-dozen fresh donuts as a sign of appreciation. When we went inside the station to give them to the police there was nobody there. We had to call them up on the phone and tell them that we had donuts for them. The policeman who picked them up seemed very thankful. There was a truck and a few toys in the waiting room that Katie played with while we waited for him to arrive.
When Katie got up from her nap we went to Moe’s for dinner. It was certainly nice to be out and about again. With our tummies full we went to Michael’s to pick up one painting and have another one stretched. Katie wanted a tube of baby jungle animals (see photo to the left) so we used our 50% off coupon from last Sunday’s paper. When we got home she spent the evening matching the baby animals with their appropriate parent animals.
