Day #1554 (Sun., Apr. 6, 2014) – Mommy/Daughter Day

2014-04-06 - Galapagos BirdsKatie wanted to go to Michael’s to play with the toy animals this morning. We thought that a tube of animals would satisfy her so we gave her a tube of Galapagos Animals. One of them was a bird with either blue or red feet. I looked it up online and it appears that it is a bird called a “Booby” (see photo to the left).

After playing with the Galapagos Animals Katie still wanted to go to Michael’s. The other day Katie expressed the desire to have a Mommy/Daughter Day so today is the day. My wife needed to return some stuff at Kohl’s anyway so off they went to Michael’s. While they were away I worked around the house. Here’s what I managed to get done:

1) I fixed the cat toy…the one where the ball rolls around the circular track. It was broken and the ball would fall out.
2) I made a loaf of bread in the bread machine. It was turning out good but it fell. Ugh!
3) I put the tool holders up in the laundry room.
4) I cleaned out the Camry.

When my wife and Katie returned I learned that they also stopped off at TCBY on Franklin Street and the Chapel Hill Library. Quite the exciting day.

While they were away I was on the LazyBoy watching a bit of television when Robin came up and sat on my lap. He used to do this but has stopped as of late. When he used to do this Katie would come up and hug him til he ran away. I think with her out of the house he felt more safe and secure.

My wife wanted to coax Katie into the tub for a nice long bath so we gave her another tube of animals…one which included a scuba diver. Katie was very upset about this as the one she saw at Michael’s had both a boy and a girl scuba diver. Katie was upset because “She wanted them both to be married”.
