Everett called this morning regarding our screened in porch. We are having problems getting it approved by the Town of Chapel Hill and apparently other builders are experiencing the same problems. As a result we’re thinking of putting up a temporary gazebo like we had when we lived in Cary.
When my wife went to bed this afternoon Katie wanted to play detective with me. We ended up on the ground scouting around with a magnifying glass. Soon we were in the corner near the front door with some domino blocks around us to keep the evil kitty Robin out (see photo to the left). Katie soon went and got some binoculars (i.e.: Viewmaster) so that we could see when he approached. Her role playing is getting much more elaborate these days.
I made some banana bread with raisins and nuts for when my wife got up from her nap. Katie had a bit of it and some turkey bacon as well. Later in the evening she had some pasta. All this meant that it was much easier to put her to bed. We really have to come up with a way to get her to eat more as night approaches.
My wife’s memory is rather selective these days. She mentioned today that she needed to get some coconut oil but there is a whole pail of it under the coffee maker.
