At 3pm this afternoon Spence’s Farm had a Halloween Festival so we bundled up Katie and off we went. We thought it might be free but instead it cost us $7 each ($21 total). Katie was able to get one pony ride for each ticket, so three pony rides in total.
The first thing Katie wanted to do was to visit the maze, made out of bales of hay (see photo to the right). She enjoyed playing around in that with the other kids. Good thing we didn’t need to go get her…we would not have fit in the holes they were so small.
Next up was a hay ride courtesy of Mr. Spence and his tractor. He told us all about the farm as he took us around the various sections.
Katie got quite the kick out of picking up the chickens and patting them (daddy also). She kept putting this one poor hapless chicken to bed and bringing feed for it. Just like with the kittens, she will not stop bringing food to animals even if they don’t want to eat.
We went home for an hour or so for dinner and then back to Spence’s Farm to watch the bonfire and play on the drums. On the way home we stopped off at Harris-Teeter to get some marshmallows to toast on our stove.
