Day #1780 (Tue., Nov. 18, 2014) – Lego Castle
I have been thinking that it would be nice to have a castle built out of Legos to go along with the role time play for Katie and the Ariel figurines I picked up at Orlando last week. Nicky, who has been playing with Legos since she was a child, managed to build one today (see photo to the right).
I stopped off at Trader Joe’s to pick up one of their “Gingerbread House Kits”. We were unable to get one last year as they sold out quickly.
I notice that Katie is often “whiny” when I come home from work. My natural inclination is to tell her to stop being like that, but I’m going to try to employ a new tactic. I’m going to hug her and tell her that daddy is here and ask her what the problem is. Hopefully this will help her to calm down and articulate what her frustrations are. It will also help to build a bond between us so that she can come to daddy whenever she needs advice or help in the future.
