Day #135 (Tue., May 18, 2010) – Little Kitchen Helper

4:00am – Daddy is up. Watching “24” and updating this blog. I hear “thumper” in the nursery, so it’s time for a change…

4:17am – I just changed little Katie and handed her over to my wife. When I found little Katie this morning she was side-ways in the crib. I’m thinking that she likes this position because she can kick the sides of the crib. I know that she loves to kick things. She likes it when I put a book near her feet so that she can kick it. She even gave the pediatrician a kick on her last visit. All that jumping in the Jumperoo is developing those legs.

Our friend from France came over to see little Katie this morning. I was at work but my wife said that little Katie really likes her and gave her a big smile. She brought a lovely dress for little Katie (photo on the right).

I was making a sandwich for dinner tonight and my wife was holding little Katie (the supervisor). She seems to be fascinated with the kitchen. I’m not sure if it’s all the different utensils, or colors, or smells, but I think she will be a great asset in the kitchen one day. Daddy’s little kitchen helper.

8:35pm – Bedtime for chipmunk… When you take little Katie into the nursery to get her ready for bed you need an arsenal of tricks to distract her. She wants to stay up and supervise the universe, so putting her to bed is taking her away from her responsibilities. I have a series of songs and tricks that I perform to get her mind off of the counting of sheep. The hard part is getting past putting the sleeping bag on her. By that point she knows that the day is drawing to a close…the assault on daddy’s ears is about to commence.
