Since the HVAC guy never showed up we’re going to have to figure out how to keep our place warm the next few days. We’ve been going down to the basement and draining the little pump every 45 minutes til it shuts the furnace off. Early this morning I went downstairs to figure out a more permanent solution. As it turns out the hose just inside the wall was frozen (see photo to the left). The water would not pump out past it. That is why the pump was shutting off and the in turn this was shutting off the furnace. I fixed this and we’re back in business. I was up til after 3am though…
I can’t get out of my driveway due to all the sleet and ice so I will be working from home today. Quite the challenge when you have an active five year old wanting attention.
My wife heard back from Duke. They are going to want her to get lab tests done on March 10th. We know that this is done the day before the delivery so it looks like March 11th will be the day little Bobby will come into the world.
Izzy came to take Katie over to her house to see her dog this afternoon. We were planning that she drop Katie off at Helen’s on the way back but before you know it she was bringing both of the girls to our house. What a racket while my wife was trying to sleep!
This evening my wife took Katie out to the little hill in front of our house to try out her new sled. I guess she was fearless. Since it’s more ice on the ground than snow it worked fantastic.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
