My wife and I went to Duke this morning for our last ultrasound and to get some lab work done. Tomorrow is show time. We learned later in the day that the actual C-Section will take place around 2pm. We were hoping it would be in the morning just to get it done…but it is what it is…
After Duke we drove out to Cary to have lunch at the Bosphorus Restaurant. We had lunch there before we drove to UNC to have Katie so we thought it would be appropriate to go there again before little Bobby enters the world. We also drove through the downtown and past our old home. We also managed to stop off at Goodberry’s for some frozen custard (see photo to the left).
On the way out of the city we stopped off at Carpenter’s Farm Supply to get four jars of honey, and then across the street to see the old home of our friends Tom and Christine. Did we ever get a shock on this one…there home is no more. In fact, a lot of homes in that area are no more. We saw a sign that there were single family homes coming, so like so much of Cary, the old farmlands are giving way to new development. So sad…
When we got home we asked Nikki if she could tend to Katie a bit longer this evening…we were so tired we went right to bed. She took care of Katie til 6pm, which was great.
This evening I had to go to WholeFoods as we forgot to get goat’s milk and apple juice when we were out today. I ended up seeing our neighbor Stephen and Gunther. He said how the whole neighborhood is buzzing about the new arrival tomorrow. He asked if anyone was preparing any meals for us for the next few weeks. I thanked him and suggested he contact my wife as she would have more knowledge of the schedule.
As I was leaving WholeFoods I realized that we also needed to pick up some balloons announcing little Bobby to the world. In the end I got five! We will get Nikki to attach them to the mailbox when the time comes. Won’t be long now…
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
——————–
1) Nikki tended to Katie longer today, which was great as we have a lot to do before tomorrow (D-Day … Delivery Day).
