Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and we thought we would have an extra special one for Katie so she realizes that she has not been left out. I went to the Dollar Store this morning and bought over $17 worth of stuff. Candies, bunnies and toys. I plan to put them around the yard this evening and create a treasure map so that Katie can have an extra special Easter egg hunt tomorrow.
This afternoon we had Daddy/Daughter Day #29. I took Katie to the Estes Elementary School where she got the chance to fly her first kite (I got two of them for $1 at the Dollar Store). You can see a photo of it flying to the right. I should have prepared it before we left for the school because fiddling with kite parts was not holding Katie’s attention. After that we went to YoPop for some frozen yogurt.
Katie has been like a rabbit on steroids all day today. It’s been hard to get her to wind down for bedtime. In the end I told her that if she didn’t go to bed the Easter bunny would not come and put eggs for her. He wanted to make sure that she would not catch him and if she stayed up too late he just wouldn’t come. That did the trick. She was soon “out like a light”.
This evening, after Katie was in bed, I took all the various candies I got at the Dollar Store this morning and put them into plastic eggs so that I can distribute them around the house and yard. I also made an Easter treasure map so that Katie would know exactly what was hidden where. Purple for gifts and red for eggs. I was outside way into the evening hiding them in place as I know Katie will be up early tomorrow morning.
