Day #1934 (Tue., Apr. 21, 2015) – Visiting Glenwood School

I picked up some grape/berry flavored Motrin and Tylenol for the kids at WalGreens at noon today. Wow…this is the first time I’ve ever used the phrase “The Kids”. Guess I will have to get used to it.

This evening my wife and I bundled up little Bobby and Katie and drove over to Glenwood School. We are hoping that Katie will get accepted into the Mandarin Chinese School program next year. Tonight they were giving a talk about it.

Before we left for the school Katie was a real help with little Bobby. There was a frantic rush to get ready and Katie held the bottle for little Bobby so that he could drink. She’s going to be such a great big sister. This had an added bonus in that little Bobby was well fed and didn’t make a fuss but slept through the whole evening til we returned home.

2015-04-21 - Glenwood SchoolAt Glenwood we were given a meal of Chinese food and then were ushered into a room so that the teachers could inform us a bit more about the program. Katie seemed to be more interested in the stuffed animals that were in a showcase in the hallway (see photo to the right).

My wife reminded me of what a good girl Katie was this evening. On the drive over I asked her to be polite and nice as she was going to meet her future teachers. She was very good. She told one of the teachers that her name was Katie and that she was five years old. When the talk got a bit long she went into another room to play with the other children…no fussing whatsoever.

In putting Katie to bed this evening I read a book about “Scaredycrow”. It even had a paper doll that you can assemble.
