Katie was a real rock star in the counting department this morning. She counted to 50 no problem and then wanted to go to 100. I told her a little trick on how to figure out which 10’s digit comes next and she is able to work through the problem now. It goes something like this:
When you get to nine you know you need a new starting digit. Say 39…
Say this number again and figure out what it sounds like: Three…
What comes after this number? Four comes after three…
The number is: Forty…
Off she goes… 40, 41, 42, 43…
It’s always quite a challenge to feed little Bobby solid food. The photo to the right shows his bowl of “mush” (i.e.: buckwheat cereal) surrounded by the various toys you need to keep him busy so that he will open his mouth when the spoon approaches.
My wife forwarded me an email that is circulating around the PTA. The Chinese parents are in “revolt mode” as the situation with Chinese teachers in Glenwood has been in a bit of flux with them leaving for various reasons. They want to see Dr. Ryan and Susan is trying to prevent that… Tough bunch… They don’t seem to realize how difficult it is to find good Chinese teachers who also have certifications to be elementary school teachers as well…
I started my first draft of an email that I’m going to send to Dr. Ryan to offer my services to build up their social media platform and generate a list of people who would be interested in sending their kids to the Mandarin Chinese Program at Glenwood.
