My wife and Katie went out to the shed to get the Halloween decorations we put there last year. They spent the morning “haunting” the yard. We managed to get a number of Halloween decorations at Target last year at 75%+ off… My wife and Katie enjoyed assembling one of them…a haunted tree that glows.
When little Bobby got up from his nap we took the van out for the first time with the whole family in it. We went to Scott’s Pumpkin Patch near where I work to pick up a couple of pumpkins to carve and a bale of straw as well.
While out in the shed my wife brought in the activity station for little Bobby. It’s similar to a Jumperoo in that it will keep the child occupied while you do chores. He got to try it out for the first time this afternoon.
This afternoon I brought out the $1 cartooning book that I bought when I was a child. It shows you the basics of cartooning, like how to change the expression on a face with a few short lines (see photo to the right). Katie and I enjoyed drawing some of the faces together.
My wife wrote a song for Katie this afternoon. It’s to the melody of “Rock A Bye Baby”:
Don‘t be so noisy
Don‘t be so loud
Please just be quiet
Your brother is out
I made some Trader Joe’s pumpkin bread this afternoon. It was delish!
Little Bobby was extremely energetic and loud in the Jumperoo this evening. So much so that Katie could not do the recording that was required of her homework. He hadn’t been in the Jumperoo all day…perhaps he missed it?
