Day #2470 (Sat., Oct. 8, 2016) – Hurricane Matthew

What a miserable day we have here in Chapel Hill as Hurricane Matthew barrels up the coast. Once Bobby went to bed for his nap my wife did too so Katie and I played in the living room.

Instead of Payday (i.e. Cash Flow, Rat Race) Katie wanted to make up her own game. It was similar to Monopoly and featured two jails and spots where you had to sing and dance if you fell on them.

2016-10-08-hurricane-matthewI also managed to fix the sounds/light on the Little Tikes ride-on police motorcycle that we picked up at the consignment sale a few weeks ago.

Around 2pm the power went out. We quickly ran around trying to find any flashlights and batteries we could find. Our stove is gas so at least we could have a nice meal of sausages and eat them in front of the big living room window before night came (see photo to the left).

We were getting ready for a long night (and perhaps days) of not having power when the lights miraculously came back around 6pm. It was now time to get back to our schedule of putting the kids to bed.

This evening Bobby wanted into the area where we keep our juice packs and started to peel the straws off them with his teeth.
