Day #2514 (Mon., Nov. 21, 2016) – Pardoning A Turkey

On the drive to Glenwood this morning I told Katie that each year the President pardons a turkey. This lead to a discussion about what pardoning meant and I said that the turkeys effectively go into retirement where they play shuffleboard, have sing-alongs, and play bingo on Tuesday nights. Now poor Katie is really confused…

2016-11-21-sign-at-nightKaren was horrified to hear that Bobby will climb up on the dining room table. There he was this evening up on the table, lying on his tummy, kicking his feet back and forth without a care in the world. There is no way that we are going to be able to make him more “docile” so short of a straight jacket I guess she is just going to have to live with it.

As I drove into the driveway this evening the solar street address light was beaming out our address in the evening atmosphere (see photo to the left). When my wife went out to check on it later in the evening it was totally dead. Oh well, I guess as long as it lasts for a few hours so that UPS trucks and the occasional guest can find our address easier in the early hours of twilight it will have served it’s purpose.

This evening Katie asked her if I could give her a hint as to what the present she will be getting on Thanksgiving Day will be. Sure I said… “It’s something that you are really going to like”. So much for “helpful” hints…
