I feel a bit of a cold coming on so I slept til 11am. When I got up my wife was running around trying to get ready for our guests that will be arriving at 2pm. Dzenen, Arnesa, and Dzene’s mother. When they arrived my wife’s hair was still wet from the shower. Oh well, they are family… To help out before our guests arrived Katie and I peeled potatoes and oranges.
We were trying to put Bobby to bed before the guests arrived but that was not to be. He had a blast with all the festivities and action. We did manage to put him to bed…eventually, but it’s going to be a rough night as a result.
For Thanksgiving Dinner we had a turkey from Trader Joe’s (see photo to the right). Dzenen’s mother brought some savory pies. Of course there were all the sides…dressing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, smothered in gravy with cranberries on the side.
During dinner Katie wanted to play “bigger than a breadbox” and spent half the time on the floor doing a coloring. Bobby was just happy to be up with the action and not relegated to his crib.
The guests left at 2pm as they were going to see Dzenen’s boss house…which is a mansion. My wife promptly put the Christmas tree up so that Katie could start putting the decorations on it. My wife and I then crashed into bed.
When we awoke Katie had practically finished decorating the tree. She is going to be our prime tree decorator moving forward I can see. When Bobby got up from his nap he, just as I had predicted, took to the tree and took the balls off and started throwing them around. He learned a knew trick…twirling the ball around in a circle via the string.
