Day #2546 (Fri., Dec. 23, 2016) – Karen’s Birthday Presents
No school for Katie today so I got the chance to sleep in. When I woke up at 8am my wife told me that Katie was not feeling well and that she was going to take her to the doctor. I’m not sure what it is about our family but we always seem to get sick during the holidays. Bad timing? As it turns out she had strep throat again…
I went to work today. There were only a few people in the office so I could get some work done.
Karen gave Katie and Bobby some Christmas gifts today. She gave them today so that she could see them open them up and enjoy. Katie got a lovely journal. Bobby got a robot (see photo to the left) and some Hot Wheels cars.
I’m not sure about the triple clef pinata Katie wants me to build. Not only does it have to look good, it has to be secure enough to hold the candy but not so strong that nobody can break into it. We’re thinking of getting a “backup” pinata at Party City. Not today or tomorrow…once the Christmas rush dies down.
We’re already planning Bobby’s birthday…with a Spiderman theme. I can see him now running around and pointing and saying “Man”.
To kick off the holiday season I went to see Star Wars “Rogue One” at Silverspot this evening. When I got home shortly after midnight my wife was wrapping Christmas presents in the dining room.
