Day #2588 (Fri., Feb. 3, 2017) – Chapel Hill Water Problems

Katie got her report card today. It said:

Chinese class: I love to work with Katie, she has been showing growth academically over this quarter! In math, we worked on addition and subtraction within 20 and how to solve word problems involving different situations. In Social Studies and Chinese, we explored traditions and holidays, especially Chinese New Year, in various ways. We also keep building Chinese reading and writing skills; we express our opinions verbally and in writing. Katie is also kind to her peers and shows respect to teachers. Way to go, Katie! – Lily Wang

2017-02-03 - Spiderman BalloonEnglish class: Katie is a pleasure to have in class. She is currently performing on grade level in reading and writing. She gets along with her peers and participates in class discussions. Katie is extremely kind and is a great friend to her classmates! We love having Katie in our class! – Katie Beck

They let the kids out early as we were told to not use the water in Chapel Hill. Someone put too much fluorine in the water supply and then a water main broke. I went to the gym and Dollar Store this afternoon and got stuck in traffic trying to get home. I did manage to get a Princess Balloon for Katie and a Spiderman Balloon for Bobby (see photo to the left).

We got a new scale today. Bobby weighed in at 37.2 lbs and then 36.6 lbs after having a #2.

This evening we bundled up the kids and went to Harris-Teeter as they are giving out three gallons of water for every individual. We also picked up a watermelon and two free cookies.

We found the Duplo Spiderman this evening. I thought that Bobby might have flushed it down the toilet but it was safe…
