Day #2597 (Sun., Feb. 12, 2017) – Chapel Hill Philharmonia

2017-02-12 - Valentine's CakeThe photo to the right shows the Valentine’s Day Cake that I picked up for Katie at Trader Joe’s yesterday. I wanted to reward her for being such a great big sister to Bobby. My wife’s boss says we don’t know how lucky we are that these two kids play together so nicely.

Ginger came over to play with the kids this morning. I guess the “electric fence” is not working again. The kids spent quite a bit of time kicking balls around and playing in the sandbox.

I drove both Katie and Bobby in the car this morning. Back and forth in the driveway and Katie would scream and Bobby would laugh at the screaming. I lured Bobby into the house with a promise of Spiderman cartoons so that I could go run errands.

I picked up some black juice and maple syrup at Trader Joe’s after I went to the gym.

My wife took Katie to a concert in downtown Chapel Hill. Here’s what it says:

On Sunday, February 12, the Chapel Hill Philharmonia performs a classical concert with internationally known pianist Dana Protopopescu. A Romanian musician settled in Belgium, she comes to Chapel Hill to play Schumann’s dramatic Piano Concerto. Janacek’s dazzling “Sinfonietta,” with an expanded section of 25 brass players, rounds out the program. Come hear the music in Moeser Auditorium (the beautifully remodeled Hill Hall) at 3:00pm. A free reception follows the program. Admission is free.

Unfortunately, Katie forgot about the reception til after they got in the car and was upset that my wife didn’t go back to attend it. I was just a table with some refreshments, but I guess she was excited about it because she had never been to one before.

While they were away I was hoping to have a nap but Bobby woke up at 3pm due to a massive #2. More cars, Spiderman, Iron Man, etc…you know the “Bobby routine”… He’s really fascinated with the Rhino these days (Spiderman villain).
