Day #2599 (Tue., Feb. 14, 2017) – Happy Valentine’s Day
On the way to Glenwood this morning I stopped off at WalGreens. My wife ordered a couple of baby photos of Katie that she is to take to school today. I put her name on the back of them with a Sharpie.
While at WalGreens I also picked up a larger box of chocolates (see photo to the right). We will be giving one to the doctor and his secretary and the other to the hospital operating room staff. As previously mentioned I will be going back to them for knee surgery soon so it’s good to treat them nicely.
I had an appointment with the doctor who did my hernia surgery at 3pm. I picked up my wife and after stopping off at the house to pick up a second box of chocolates (one for the doctor and staff and the other for the operating room staff) we drove over to the UNC Hospital in Hillsborough. The doctor said that one of the hernia’s I had (there were three) was unlike any other hernia he had ever operated on. He gave me a good bill of health though.
My wife hurt her back this morning so I tried to help her put Bobby to bed this evening. It was rather difficult with my bad leg. I tried reading him stories and tried to get him drink his milk but he was having nothing to do with it. I finally did manage to get him to drink a bit and he started to sleep when Katie slammed the bathroom door and he was up again. My wife found her back belt and that gave her some extra strength to make an attempt. He drifted off after 11pm…
