We were supposed to go over to dinner at a family’s house this evening but the kids are sick so the dinner was cancelled. The wife is Lithuanian.
My wife had a nap this afternoon so I tended to Katie. I made a low-cal chocolate brownie by mixing whipping cream, eggs, cocoa powder and stevia in a mug and microwaving it for two minutes. Both Katie and I liked it.
Next on the agenda was to do one of her “Magic School Bus” kits that she gets in the mail every month. This one dealt with fossils and we put a little plastic dinosaur into a dish of plaster of paris to mimic it. We also played a bit with the Lite Brite kit she got for her birthday. All in all I guess you could call all this Daddy/Daughter Day #54.
Since we had no dinner plans this evening I thought it might be a good idea to take the kids to Chick-Fil-A near SouthPoint as they have a little play area that they can run around in. My legs was already bothering me by that point so I regretted it almost immediately. True to form, they didn’t eat much, but they sure loved running around and playing with the slide (see photo to the right).
This evening Katie gave us a dance concert in the living room (in which she turned out the lights) and a piano recital in her room. Refreshments were pickles and maple syrup, a combo that Katie came up with. Bobby seemed to like them as well.
